  1. 1Keep your title short and brief.
  2. Summarise your Pitch in the abstract section-this is what Investors will read first-grab their attention.
  3. Separate your Pitch into short paragraphs making it easier to read.
  4. Make sure it sounds professional
  5. Use a suitable word processing software i.e. MS Word, to type up your Pitch so it can be edited before you copy and paste it onto the online proposal form.
  6. Don’t forget to check your spelling and grammar before submission.
  7. Avoid the use of technical jargon-it can confuse Investors.

What To Include In Your Pitch

Your Pitch business plan should be concise and contain the following details :

  • What is the project/product?
  • What is the market?
  • Who is the competition?
  • Who is in your team?
  • What is the timeframe of your proposal?
  • What can you offer to the Investor?
  • What experience/qualifications do you have?
  • What are your strengths?
  • How much money do you need?
  • Why do you need the finance?
  • When do you need the money? In stages or a lump sum?
  • How much equity share are you willing to give up to the Investor?
  • When and how will you return their investment?

Is it a truly original idea? How does it differ from current products/services? Is there a strong and skilled management team in place? Is the business/revenue model feasible and realistic? Does the idea fit in with current industry/market trends? Has the entrepreneur analysed competition to benchmark and position their idea?
